We’ve moved!

•August 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

After the longest period of time, I’ve finally moved my blog over to the same server as my website. That’s one of the main reason why WordPress was chosen over other blogging sites in the first place so as to enjoy the cool features WordPress has. Almost a year has passed since my first post. Firstly, my old server wasn’t stable with lots of downtime so I delayed migrating my blog over. My current server has been very good so far (touch wood, please don’t fail me) and I thought I have to do it one day, if not it’ll never be done.

All past posts have been migrated so you are still able to read everything over at the new site. Alright, for all future updates, please visit:

In the Mood for Love

•August 13, 2009 • 4 Comments

Work for the past week has been really hectic. I was so tired after a couple of days of shoot I simply don’t have the energy to stay alert in front of the computer. Gave myself some lame excuses and slept through the day yesterday and went for a nice movie (UP) in the evening. Not Pixar’s best but it’s worth watching.

Ok, back to the topic, did a short engagement shoot with Ben and Wan Yee. The day started with a slight drizzle but all went well in the evening. Wan Yee was a little camera shy in the beginning but after a few rounds of warm up, she’s also quite good with her poses ya.

For the love of Toys

•August 3, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Erika and Teck are avid toy collector. Their love for toys really amazed us. We are honoured to be invited to their house warming last Sat and we saw new toys the minute we stepped in. Hmm..I’m thinking by the time I go over again for their actual day, there will be new toys again. In no time, their house can be another Toy Museum.

Tom & Rose

•July 27, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It seems like it was just not long ago that I did Tom & Rose pre-wedding and before I knew it, their wedding was over quite some time back. Their wedding was held at the very cosy Raffles Hotel. A small intimate affair but certainly a very warming one. It’s my pleasure to be shooting alongside with Edmund too.

It was a surprise for Rose’s aunt, who flew all the way from Hong Kong, to receive the bouquet of flowers from Rose, to celebrate their 50 years of marriage. It’s a really touching moment that move Rose to her tears.

The first dance that follows saw most of their guests up on their feet on the dance floor. It’s a culture not commonly seen from Singaporean weddings.

Erika & Teck

•July 20, 2009 • 2 Comments

I just had a fun-filled pre wed shoot last Wednesday and it’s really really fun. Erika and Teck is one of the most crazy and comedic couple I’ve shot that made me laugh all the way. Teck is a natural comedian and he never fails to entertain us with every sentence he says. They are natural in front of the camera and gives you all the funny faces the moment you start shooting. Everything was good except for the super heavy rain in the morning. Though we ended pretty late, it was great joy being around them. I’m definitely looking forward to their big day! Congratulations!

Here’s a quick preview of the pics..to be continued.

Seeing double? As pointed out by Erika, Teck does have some similarity with Popeye.

John & Priscilla

It’s amazing to be invited by Priscilla to shoot for her wedding. She’s very busy with her little baby and we can’t really find time to meet prior to her wedding but nontheless, we manage to catch up. Here are a couple of pics of John and Priscilla to share with you guys. Her family and friends, together with John’s are really fun loving people and I totally enjoy myself with the shoot.

John’s friend are really comedians. Everyone was expecting the bride and groom but they made the first appearance before them. Everyone was laughing their heads off.

Their stage game is full of fun and laughter and all their guests had a good laugh. I was enjoying myself so much I almost forgot I’m suppose to be shooting.

Rainforest Lounge by SATS

•July 8, 2009 • 2 Comments

Did a series of shoot for SATS for their Premier Lounges and Rainforest Lounge. With the courtesy of them, here’s the wall poster for their Rainforest Lounge.

Located at the Transit Area of Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1, the Rainforest Lounge has all the facilities we need after a long tiring flight. From Jacuzzi to Showers to Massage to Nap/Slumberette to Business Center to a Food and Beverages lounge and a bar. Basically, it’ll be a place to invigorate your journey as stated in the wall poster. So, do remember to drop by if you were to transit in Singapore next time.

The private napping area, the Slumberette, is so cosy I almost wanted to take a nap while shooting the place. The ambience is real good. Family suite is also available if you have children along with you.

Here’s the nicely decorated lift along the transit area which brings you up to the lounge. Be sure not to miss it.

Here are the pics from the other 3 Premier Lounges from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3. The facilities, food and ambience is simply awesome.

@ Tian Fu Teahouse with Boyce & Velda

•July 2, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Boyce and Velda had a very cosy solemnization at Tian Fu Teahouse by Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant with a couple of family members and close friends. The place is nice, the mood is nice, the thought both of them put in to decorate the restaurant is nice. I totally enjoy myself during the shoot. Thanks for having me there to share the joy.

Boyce & Velda

Boyce and Velda is certainly an amazing couple to shoot. They had their solemnization last month at the very cosy Tian Fu Teahouse @ UOB Plaza. Along with the ROM, we went for a very quick outdoor shoot as well. Had a quick walk around Singapore River and we had lots of nice chat along the way. Here are some of the outdoor shots, more of their solemnization in later post.

It was the start of the school holiday and everywhere we went, we saw lots of school students around. After a brief chat with some of the kids, we realised they were having an inter-school amazaing race. Wow, students nowadays are so different from what we used to do back then. It was either an excursion to the Zoo or the Science Centre. It was so nice of them when I asked them to join in the shoot for some fun.

I really like the expression Boyce did for this. It’ll somehow remind us what are the silly stunts or expression we’ll do whenever we make our partner angry. It really shows the love they have for each other. There are more hilarious pictures but I’ll leave those for the 2 of them.

Serene & Daniel – SG II

•June 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

While working on Daniel & Serene’s wedding album this very moment, it just brought back those cool memories of our Melbourne trip last year and how brave Serene was to shoot in 10 degree weather. Had an amazing shoot with lots of nice scenary back then and right here, back in our home town, we agreed on a theme to focus on more poses and portraits. I feel it turn out pretty well and am really glad we made it for this second shoot. It’s kind of addictive. Serene look really great in her cheongsam. Guess she’s all good to go for her wedding come August.

Updates

The past months has been really exciting. My days are packed with lots of shoots, meet-ups and DI. Got to meet up with many amazing couples who totally appreciate photography and I’m certainly looking forward to their weddings. Shoots throughout the past months have been blessed with good weather too. The heat is certainly a killer but the lighting is simply marvellous. With that, it also mean there’s lots of editing and albums to be done.

I’ve migrated my site to a new server as well. With so much down time from my previous hosting, especially at night, and the lack of a speedy recovery, I’ve decided to just switch to a new host. Hope this will greatly improve the browsing experience to my site.

So much for the update, am going back to my good old friend – PS again…

Henky & Ariyani

Henky called me just 3 days before his wedding. I didn’t get to meet Ariyani until the day of thier wedding. It was later when I realised Ariyani actually emailed me sometime back. She’s a pretty good writer and has great interest in photography and I enjoy reading her blog. Her pre-wed shoot is very well done and she did some of the design for her album too. Do check out her post on pre-wedding as she has some very good pointers on the do’s and dont’s for pre-wed shoot.

Serene & Daniel – SG

•May 24, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Did Serene and Daniel pre-wed shoot last October in Melbourne and wow, how time flies, its coming June very soon. Serene had always wanted a shoot locally and after repeated re-scheduling, we finally completed the shoot yesterday.

Here’s a little side track from the shoot. Arrived at their house slightly earlier and Serene is still doing her make-up. Their house is very nicely done up and it feels very cosy. We had planned to start shooting from their house before proceeding out for some outdoor shoot. Once I reached their house, I was greeted by their cute little doggy and ended up taking lots of pictures of her. Ok, more of the couple in the later post but meanwhile, here’s Coco, their cute little doggy.

Recent Updates

It’s been a long while since my last post again. I’ve always wanted to maintain a more regular update to my blog but it has always been put aside due to my hectic workload. I’ll make it a point to adhere to it.

Just a month ago, there’s a new member into my arsenal of equipment and yes, I finally got my 5D mkII. It’s really a wonderful camera and I’m very pleased with the results. But then again, it’s increasingly taxing for us on our CF cards and harddisk space. Thankfully, storage is very affordable nowadays.

I joined a workshop a month ago by Benjamin Young conducted in Singapore. He’s a very well known wedding photographer in the Phillippines and we did a lot of shoots with the reflector, off-camera flash as well as the video light. It’s a very good refresher for me to learn how he sees light and capture the couples in the most natural moment. Have always been very interested in the video light which I think is so much better than off camera flash. Will hope to organise some shoots with a few kakis to explore more on this technique when I have the time. Below are just a couple of pics we did that day. So sorry, there’s a whole lot of it but I only manage to find time to process a few.
